PUBLISHER DUTIES
Ensuring effective publishing support maintain quality, integrity, dissemination, and accessibility of scholarly research, our journals and books, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for authors, reviewers, and editorial teams.
Here are the key duties of RITHA Publishing House to fulfil this role:
Peer Review Management:
- Implementing and maintaining a robust peer-review process to ensure the quality and validity of published research;
- Selecting appropriate reviewers with expertise in the subject matter;
- Overseeing the timely and constructive review of submitted manuscripts.
Editorial Boards Coordination:
- Recruiting and managing the experts in Editorial Boards;
- Coordinating regular meetings or communications to discuss editorial policies, upcoming publications, and emerging trends;
- Seeking input from Managing Board members on journal/book strategy and development;
- Assisting in the selection and appointment of qualified editors and editorial boards;
- Providing guidance and support to editors in matters of publishing policies, ethical considerations, and content quality;
- Ensuring adherence to ethical standards and guidelines, such as those outlined by organisations like the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE);
- Addressing cases of plagiarism, research misconduct, and ethical violations.
Editorial Support for Authors:
- Offering guidance to authors on manuscript preparation and submission;
- Addressing author inquiries and concerns promptly;
- Assisting authors in navigating the publication process;
- Educating authors about open-access publishing and associated costs in alignment with industry trends and policies;
- Managing copyright and licensing agreements to protect the intellectual property rights of authors and the publisher;
- Clearly communicating and enforcing copyright policies.
Quality Assurance:
- Implementing and maintaining rigorous editorial standards and quality control measures to maintain the credibility and reliability of the published content;
- Conducting plagiarism checks and ensure adherence to ethical publishing practices;
- Providing guidelines to authors for manuscript preparation and submission.
Publication Schedule and Planning:
- Developing and adhering to a publication schedule;
- Planning thematic issues or special editions to align with industry trends or conferences.
Indexing and Archiving:
- Ensuring that the journal/book is indexed in relevant databases to enhance wide visibility in line with its aims and scope;
- Collaborating with indexing services to expand coverage. In this regard, SCIRES WEB as business unit of RITHA Publishing House established agreements with CEEOL, EBSCO, Index Copernicus and others will follow;
- Facilitating the indexing of content in relevant databases and international catalogues to enhance wide dissemination, contributing to prepare for evaluation to SCOPUS and Clarivate Analytics - Emerging Source Citation (journals) or Book Citation Index (BKCI (books);
- Implementing strategies for the long-term preservation of digital content to ensure its availability for future generations.
Access and Dissemination:
- Developing strategies to promote published content and increase journal/book visibility.
- Collaborating with authors, institutions, and societies to enhance the journals/book' reputation using various channels to reach the target audience, including social media, newsletters.
- Facilitating the broad and timely dissemination of research findings to the scientific community and target public.
- Managing online platforms and databases to ensure easy access to published content.
Community Engagement & Continuous Improvement:
- Engaging with the scientific community, authors, readers, and institutions to understand their needs and expectations.
- Responding to feedback and continuously improving publishing practices;
- Seeking feedback from authors, reviewers, and editorial board members for continuous improvement;
- Keeping updated on industry best practices and implement improvements accordingly.
Financial Management:
- Managing the financial aspects of publication, including budgeting, pricing, and revenue generation;
- Ensuring financial sustainability while maintaining affordable access for readers;
Technical Support:
- Embracing and implementing technological advancements to enhance the publishing process and user experience;
- Providing technical support for editors, authors and reviewers for handling our publishing and review system;
- Addressing any technical issues promptly to ensure a smooth workflow.
Compliance and Legal Matters:
- Ensuring compliance with copyright laws and licensing agreements;
- Addressing legal issues such as libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
Support to Persons with Disability
- Authors, librarians and readers with temporary or continuous disability are encouraged to contact us for assistance if they experience any technical difficulty while interacting with our Publishing House. The assistance to persons with disability will be given free of charge.
As publisher, we aim to be completely transparent and fair in dealings with all authors and editors. Should an author, reviewer, Editor, or representative need to file a complaint, appeal a decision, or share other information, please send an email detailing the appropriate information (title, author, dataset, etc.) to office@ritha.eu with subject line: complaints. RITHA Publishing treats all such communications seriously, confidentially, and will reply promptly.
